Feast of the Seven Fishes

As promised, some photos from our Christmas Eve feast... way way way more than just seven fish, though! The ones I can remember are: Bakala (cod) salad Cold Conch salad Fried scallops, shrimp, calamari (squid), scallops and smelts Escarole stuffed with anchovies Anchovy fritters Lobster sauce Stuffed shrimp Some years we have a sauce with lobster, mussels, clams, shrimp, squid, scallops and cod. Other years we have made a simple anchovy pasta dish with pine nuts and rasins (my favorite). This year we ate until we were stuffed, then had the main course... time to push away from the table and rest my weary fork!

Every year my fantasy is to be adopted by an Italian family so I can experience this feast. I guess I could learn how to make it myself . . .
