Itching to Post...

The Sunday blog posts I read from my "friends" around the world are so enlightening.  I've been "itching to post" all week, but have decided to wait until today since the week has been such a creative bust.  I am suffering from creativity envy.  Last week my Sisters in Cloth friends had a great class with Melanie Testa doing Soy Wax Batik.  I had a mammogram and two kids at the dentist.
They all have this wonderful fabric to play with this week, making lovely creative quilts and expanding their creative horizons.  I cleaned my attic, basement, and painted two bedrooms.  It is school vacation week, so the kids were needing entertainment and activities.
But the one thing they don't have is an 8 year old who's big wish for his birthday is to have his friends come over for homemade birthday cake, backyard games, and an hour in his mother's studio making "paper people" (what he calls paper dolls).  I may be itching for my life to be more sane, and for more time in my studio, but I won't wish away this fun week.

Except for the real reason that I am itching this week...

Poison Ivy...

I am giggling. But I honor you for being a great mom. My kids are all super creative and they credit the creative time they had with me growing up. There will be many years to create fabric and quilts but a limited time with your children.

Sorry about the poison ivy!!
