Marsh View Days 4&5: Long Hours and Good News

Sewing my way through this marsh of reeds and rushes, I've had quite a few ups and downs in the last two days.  After deciding to remove the major elements mentioned in the last post, I also had to reorient the piece to make the "plants" float as they did in my original sketch.  Picking out stitches is about as much fun as picking burrs from your socks after a long hike through the fields in this area.  Both take time, patience, and good eyesight...

The good news is that the top is almost, almost, together.  It has the calm feel I was hoping to achieve, while still evoking an autumn day at the shore.  When I add the quilting stitches, there will be "wind in the rushes" and a texture that only close lines can bring to such a piece.

Can't wait to see the whole enchilada! OMG, the work you're putting into this. Do you have a neck/shoulder/back ache from bending over it yet?
