Tori, Vivika, Belinda
What a great weekend! If you ever have the opportunity to go to the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth, by all means, take it. The grassy trails wander between the Presumpscot river and a beautiful farmstead. Dotting the fields are five or six sculptures of elk and moose made of rusty re-bar and strips of metal. Just gorgeous. The community gardens are an organic gardener's dream (how did they get their cabbages and brussel sprouts to grow so big when mine are languishing?) and inspirational to anyone who loves their veggies. In other words, I want to live there. Really.
My weekend at the Audubon Show in Falmouth, Maine was a success in many ways, but most of all, it was a huge treat to catch up with old (ah-hem!) friends and neighbors who I've not seen in years. In the picture, I am flanked by my friends Tori and Belinda. I met Tori on the first day of kindergarten and we've been pals ever since. She made the gorgeous bag she's wearing - one of her many talents! Tori is also wearing a necklace that Belinda made- Belinda sings, she dances, she cooks- another friend from way back when... Also stopping by the booth were Marlee who first inspired me to quilt; Betty and Thomas, friends from camp Winni; Ron and Carol, Bob and Cindy, from Emmaus; Tom and Marty from Simply Scandinavian, and Damian and Donna, my in-laws. Not to mention a whole group of new clients who saw and purchased my work for the first time... A great weekend!
