Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained: Blog Contest

I've recently started making cards out of my creations... After so many people have encouraged me to do so, I have printed a bunch of cards with five different designs: a bluebird, robin, pair of hummingbirds, night heron and dog quilt are now available as lovely one sided cards (like a postcard but with an envelope). So far they have been well received and have been flying out of my studio. They are priced to sell: $3 each or five for $12. What do you think? Leave a comment below and be eligible for a drawing for a pack of five cards next Monday, August 10th. Don't forget to include an email so I can notify the lucky winner!

Oh, I'm so glad you are doing the cards! I love your work. This way your art will still be affordable even to us who were forced to retire this past year!

Hi Vivika, fabulous idea, good luck with the cards. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to catch up with your summer activities, and reminding me how wonderful your Chroma exhibit was, I went there after I left the Guilford Art Center the day I met you. Having seen your work in person, I can attest the photos cannot possibly do it justice....but the cards look like a close second. Regards, Debbie Bein

These are wonderful. I can see your dog and bird card the best from your photo and they are fantastic! So glad you took the plunge to have them printed. I hope you are swamped with orders.

Those cards are lovely! And I was very pleased to see you live in Guilford. I spent all my childhood Summers in Madison. and My Mom spent all hers (from 1930 on) in Madison as well in a lovely bungalow on Websters Point by Hammonasset.

I don't know whether you know, but Melanie Testa the Art Quilter's Mom lives in Guilford as well!!

Again, beautiful cards!

What a great idea. Especially in these tough economic times, many people might not be able to justify spending money on art -- but everybody needs cards!

Beautiful art cards- I love the look on the dog's face.
Also very impressed with your idea for the way to hang the miniquilts with a slat and standard picture hanger- I will definitely try that with my next mini-quilt.
