Collaboration: Announcing a New Show

New and vibrant work from my studio and that of fellow Shoreline Arts Trail photographer Rosemary DeLucco Alpert can be seen at Friends & Co. Restaurant in Madison, CT.  I've shown here before, with the Sisters in Cloth group, but that was several years ago.  This venue is particularly desirable because it is well known for promoting established as well as emerging local artists and supporting worthy charities.  All artwork shown is for sale, and 20% of the proceeds go directly to a local charity of the artists' choice.

Our show is called "Birds and Blooms", for obvious reasons!

Rosemary is displaying eight gorgeous photos of deep orange Asian Lillies, all dry mounted onto black mat board and finished in a simple black metal frame.  They are stunning and powerful.  Her photography is artistic and interesting:  each piece captures a unique view of these lovely blooms.

My work includes three pieces from my new series of mixed media Paper Quilts.  All three Migration Story quilts are shown together, and create a visually interesting display.  Eighteen additional birds, most of which have been featured on this blog in the past, are also hung in the entryway, booths and bar of the restaurant.

Situated directly on the East River, and only a few miles from my home, Friends offers a lovely view, great food, and a wonderful place to meet up with your friends.  Let me know if you visit and your impressions of our show.
